THE PROGRAM
I am Dr. Jim Rosokoff, a retired dermatologist, known internationally as Dr. Uke. For over 20 years I've taught the ukulele, and led the Glastonbury Ukulele Band. When the pandemic hit, our ukulele band was not able to perform live. Assisted living facilities, nursing homes, etc., could not have outside entertainers come in. Some of us led
concerts and singalongs on Zoom, which were welcomed by audiences.
This led me to think that, because of the uniqueness of my site, where I sing over 4000 songs, of many eras and genres, several different facilities could benefit from my leading singalongs,
without my having to be there, and at no charge. To be clear, this is an audio program only (no video). This could also be helpful for places that can't afford entertainment, or that want to put together a singalong
assembly or a musical program which can be broadcast into the residents' rooms.
This is how it works. Activities Directors can simply come to my site and either use already prepared programs (currently 22 of them), or decide which songs to choose (they could be residents' choices of their favorites-most
are on my site), and put their own programs together. Click on "How To Use the Programs" below, to learn how easy it is to do. In addition to playing the programs, you can provide or project the
lyrics to all the songs.
